§ 54-20. Bulk water purchase.

(a)

No water shall be released to any persons, company or corporation, public or private, without first making application to the town's water department office and paying a service charge as set forth by the board of commissioners in the town's fee schedule. Water usage up to 5,000 gallons shall be included in the service charge. Any water over the initial 5,000 gallons shall be billed according to the fee schedule.

(b)

The amount of water needed shall be paid for in advance by the applicant or his representative.

(c)

No unmetered water shall be taken from the town's lines unless supervised by town's public services department personnel. Estimates of water taken for fire protection training shall be submitted monthly to the town's public services department office.

NOTE: This does not apply to emergency conditions such as fire with the use of the town's hydrants for the purpose of fire protection.
